We’re going pie crazy for Labor Day! Our Chick Mud Pie is super easy and fun to make along with our recipe for Chicks Love Chocolate® Cream Pie! Start your grillin’ off with an easy Chicks Love Chocolate® Barbeque Rub for chicken on the grill too!

Chicks Love Chocolate® Barbeque Rub

This dry rub will make your chicken somethin’ special this Labor Day!

1 tsp chili powder

¼ cup paprika

¼ cup light brown sugar

¼ cup kosher salt

½ cup cocoa powder

Combine ingredients (may put in a coffee grinder first if available). Rub on chicken directly or coat in a plastic storage bag. Make sure chicken is dry first.

Chick Chocolate Cream Pie

1 ready-made deep-dish piecrust prebaked until light brown

1 ¼ cups sugar

1/3 cup cornstarch

¼ teaspoon salt

3 cups milk

4 egg yolks only

2 (1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled

1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a saucepan, combine sugar, cornstarch, and salt. In a bowl, combine milk and egg yolks, stirring well. Add milk mixture to sugar mixture and stir until smooth. Whisk in chocolate and bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil 1 minute, whisking constantly. Remove from heat, and stir in vanilla. Pour into prepared piecrust and chill at least 6 hours before serving.

Serve with whipped cream and chocolate shavings!

Chicks Love Chocolate® Mud Pie

3 (2 ounce squares) semisweet chocolate melted and cooled

½ cup sweetened condensed milk

1 chocolate cookie piecrust

½ cup chopped peanuts

2 cups cold milk

2 pkg (4-serving size each) instant chocolate flavor pudding and pie filling

1 tub thawed non-dairy frozen whipped topping

Mix chocolate and condensed milk until well blended. Pour into crust, sprinkle with peanuts. Then, in a mixing bowl, add dry pudding mixes and milk. Beat with whisk until well blended. Spoon ¾ of the pudding mixture over the peanuts. Combine remaining pudding with ½ tub of the whipped topping and place over pudding layer. Top with remaining whipped topping.

Refrigerate at least 3 hours.
